Catalina La O Presenta: Now With Me is a solo performance created by jk jk, married couple khattieQ and Jenny Larson-Quiñones. It is a comedy, a tragedy, a musical, and a love letter.
Catalina La O explores the life of collaborator khattieQ and female Puerto Rican singing legends Myrta Silva and Ruth Fernández, among others. In Catalina, the ravages of a storm have forced her to take shelter in an abandoned studio. None of Catalina’s live audience has arrived, but she broadcasts her show to the millions of viewers she hopes are watching. Catalina is a piece for the queer communities. It is a piece for the colonized body. It is a piece for Puerto Rico. It is a piece for anyone who has experienced heartbreak. It is a piece for survivors. It is a piece that speaks to resistance.
Catalina La O premiered live June 23rd & 25th 2022, presented by the Queer Arts Festival, co-presented by Rumble Theatre, produced by From the Corner Productions, co-produced by frank theatre company, and associate produced by Neworld Theatre.
